Touch of Jazz is made up of four excellent instrumentalists from the northern Colorado region:

Gil Garcia (Leader, Trumpet), a retired band director and educator, spent 45 years teaching music in public schools and colleges, 38 years as principal trumpet with symphony orchestras, and 40 years directing bands, including 17 with the Loveland Community Band. Starting at age 14, his musical experience included playing with Tiny Hill's dance band in the '50s, and in the Marine Corps appearing with such notables as Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, and Eartha Kitt. Gil is a former Director of Jazz Studies at Colorado State University, teaches trumpet, and leads Touch of Brass. |

Carol Mayberry-Sanchez (Piano) has experienced a lifetime of diversity in music, from classical to rock, rhythm and blues, and country. She has performed with Phillip Bailey (Earth, Wind and Fire), Bobby Bare, the Shirelles, Little Jimmy Dickens, and as warm-up act for the Kingston Trio, Doug Kershaw, and comedian Gallagher. She composes, performs regularly, and teaches piano. |

J.R. "Jake" Hehn (String bass) is a retired university administrator of 40 years (including 28 years at Colorado State University, the last 20 as vice-president). He has played "forever" in dance band groups, symphony orchestras, polka bands and the like, and has appeared with Dick Contino, The Ink Spots, and Bob Hope, as well as some of the Lawrence Welk performers including Bobbi Burgess and Myron Floren. |

Larry Bridges (Drums) has been playing music and drums for more than 30 years. He has played in such bands as Harmonica Loowinski, King Cleveland Blues Band, and Wildfire. Along the way, Larry had the opportunity to play with recording artists Bo Diddley and Chris Ledoux. Gil was Larry's high school band instructor and has been a mentor to him since. Besides Touch of Jazz, Larry performs with other area groups and teaches privately. |
